The Kindersley RCMP along with the Saskatchewan Health Authority are advising the public that the chemical 5F-ADB has been found in Kindersley. The local RCMP detachment recently completed a drug seizure that resulted in samples being sent to a lab. The Lab confirmed that the substance was 5F-ADB.

The Chemical is often identified as 'spice', 'synthetic cannabis', 'K2', or 'Herbal Essence'. The chemical is usually inhaled through either smoking or vapourising. The chemical is considered extremely potent and has been associated with overdoses and death.

"Given the nature of the substance, the likelihood of its presence in the community and the potential health and saftey risks," said a statement provided by the Health Authority. "the public is advised to be aware and exercise extreme caution when purchasing, using or handling synthetic cannabis products."

The product is arguably at the heart of the current conversations happening around e-cigarette regulations.
