The 47th annual Kindersley Goose Festival dodged some nasty weather this past weekend.  After last year's festivities were delayed due to snow, eyes were on the skies on Saturday for a repeat performance.  Mother nature cooperated for the most part and despite some chilly temperatures, the streets remained snow free during Saturday's parade and activities.

Goose Festival kicked off once again on Thursday with pie eating, goose plucking and potato peeling contests. The crowd was also treated to a pumpkin growing contest and the Positive Ticket Award.  The evening saw some rain showers but that didn't stop the fierce competition many residents look forward to on a yearly basis.

Synergy Credit Union's pie eating contest had two rounds this year, the winners of each round were able to pick a charity of their choice to donate to.

In round 1, Team Kindersley Glass beat out  Team Speedy Glass. Their donation went to KAWS Animal Rescue and they offered to match the $100 donation.

In round 2, the Kindersley Stallions baseball team beat out the Kindersley Mainline Sales team and their donation went towards West Central Abilities.

A couple of Kindersley Klippers took the win for both the potato peeling and goose plucking events.  Noah Lindsay who hails from Kelowna B.C won the potato peel in his first year attending Goose Festival.  While Kindersley's own Kyle Bosch took home the goose plucking honours at this year's event.

The weekend brought many more events for Kindersley and area residents to enjoy.  The Goose Festival parade was well attended, with many businesses and organizations participating.

The weekend also featured karaoke contests, the return of Flatlanders racing, horse pulls and a whole lot more!

The Kindersley Klippers played their annual Goose Festival game on Friday against the Humboldt Broncos, and brought back a fan favorite the NHL/Klipper Alumni Game on Saturday.
