A number of topics were covered by Eston's elected officials during their most recent regular council meeting.
 
A motion to keep the campground rates the same as last year going forward was carried.
 
A motion that a $1,000 donation be made to the Kindersley Animal Welfare Society (KAWS) was defeated. KAWS Animal Rescue is an organization which began in 2010 to help find homes for animals in need.
 
Samuel Stevenson and Igor Smits have been hired as Public Works Summer Students this year.
 
Stevenson will start on May 14th and Smits will begin on May 28th with both students scheduled until September 30th.
 
Monica Harder was hired as a permanent full time Administrative Assistant starting on June 18th.
 
A motion to hire Rod McIvor as a casual Landfill Attendant was also carried.
 
Council approved a basement and addition building permit for Bill & Gwen Etter at 710 Main Street in Eston.
 
The councillors were reminded that the next regular council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23rd.
