Work trailers and worksites were the target of multiple thefts and break and enters in the Kindersley area over the course of the last week.

In the latest RCMP report for the week ending March 17, 2019, two break and enters and three calls of theft were reported with multiple items being reported missing from the incidents. The RM of Oakdale was the location for over half of the above calls, items including an impact drill, fuel, and H2S monitors and laptops were reported missing.

In Kindersley, one vehicle had the window smashed out while parked overnight and three other calls were made reporting items being stolen from their vehicle, two of which were left unlocked.

CRIMINAL CODE:
BREAK & ENTER x 2 – RM of Oakdale – worksite trailer had pad lock removed. Items reported missing include Motorolla Walkie-talkies, computer accessories, SUI; Kindersley – trailer broken into and boxes of chips and beef jerky reported missing, SUI;
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT – Kindersley – complaint of workplace incident involving 2 employees, SUI
DISTURBING THE PEACE – Kindersley – call to a possible assault in progress. Investigation revealed no assault had taken place. A verbal disagreement had taken place.
FAIL TO COMPLY WITH PROBATION ORDER – Kindersley – male charged after he was found not complying with a condition of his probation;
FAIL TO COMPLY WITH CONDITION OF UNDERTAKING x 3 – As a result of curfew checks being done by officers, one female was charged for not being at her residence, one male was charged for consuming alcohol, and one male charged for not being at his residence.
FLIGHT FROM POLICE OFFICER – Investigation into male fleeing from police, SUI;
MISCHIEF – Kindersley – report of vehicle having a window smashed while it was left parked, overnight, SUI
OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE IMPAIRED x 3 – Kindersley – vehicle stopped after being observed swerving over the center line, one female charged; RM of Wilton – call of possible impaired driver. Person located outside of the vehicle, no charges laid at this time; Kindersley – male charged after being stopped for possible impaired driver.
THEFT UNDER $5000 x 5 – RM of Winslow – trailer and office at worksite entered. Numerous items reported missing, SUI; RM of Oakdale – worksite building entered. Items reported missing include impact drills, fuel, and winter clothing, SUI; RM of Oakdale – trailer at worksite entered. Items reported missing are H2S monitors and Laptops, SUI; Kindersley – call of firewood being taken out of a yard without permission, SUI; Kindersley – report of a wallet being stolen. Male later called back saying he found it;
THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE x 3 - Kindersley – unlocked vehicle entered during the night and items taken from the glove box, SUI; Kindersley – unlocked vehicle entered during the night and items taken from the glove box, SUI; Kindersley – report of gift cards being stolen from vehicle, SUI;
THEFT OF CAR – Flaxcombe – Call of possible vehicle theft. Caller later confirmed that vehicle was used by someone else and was not stolen;
THEFT OF TRUCK – Kerrobert – complaint of truck being taken out of yard some time since last Wednesday, SUI;
TRESPASS AT NIGHT – call of male entering private property to try to get another male to leave, SUI

INTERSECTION OFFENCES x 2 – Kindersley
SPEEDING x 15 – RM of Kindersley, RM of Oakdale, RM of Progress, RM of Winslow – 13 tickets issued and 2 warnings issued.
OTHER MOVING TRAFFIC – RM of Kindersley, Kindersley – all incidents were reports of erratic driving. No charges laid at this time.
OTHER NON-MOVING TRAFFIC x 5 – Kindersley – 4 tickets issued, one warning issued
SUSPICIOUS PERSON/VEHICLE x 5 – RM of Snipe Lake – caller reports someone was in her yard and thinks her vehicle was gone through, SUI; RM of Winslow – call of suspicious vehicle in a person’s yard looking for gas, SUI; Flaxcombe – call of vehicle with no license plate parked in front of a residence. Nothing criminal in nature; Kindersley – call of a male sitting outside a business. Male appeared to be disoriented, SUI; Eston – call of an unknown male trying to pick complainant up after leaving a business, SUI;
TRESPASSING – Kindersley – call of a male jumping over the counter at a business. Male located and as per complainant’s wishes, no charges laid.

Kindersley RCMP are also informing residents of an upcoming traffic blitz. The detachment stated that on a previous blitz, the Saskatoon Police issued numerous tickets for tinted front and side windows and they will be focusing on this offence once again.

Kindersley RCMP outlined this, and other offences the Saskatoon Police will be having an eye out for during the upcoming blitz, including:
• Unlawful window tint, $115 fine plus inspection order to verify tint has been removed
• No valid registration on vehicle, $580
• Disobey stop sign, $230
• Seatbelt not being worn, or worn properly, $175
• Obstructed windshield, $125
• Tail light covers, $115
• Spot lights or light-bar mounted higher than the headlamps, $115

Additionally, officers will be on the lookout for drivers speeding and using their cell phone while behind the wheel.
