The West Central Wheat Kings AA hockey teams had a busy weekend with both Pee Wee and Bantam teams on the ice.

 

Pee Wee AA

The Pee Wee AA team hosted three games in the West Central area this weekend starting with a game in Kindersley against the Humboldt Broncos on Friday. The Wheat Kings won easily by a score of 10-2. The team then played the Humboldt Broncos once again this time in Eston on Saturday afternoon. The game was a little closer, but West Central came out on top once again 6-3. The Wheat Kings finished their weekend with a three game sweep as they defeated the Melfort Mustangs 9-2. Pryce Thiessen had a big day on Friday scoring 4 goals and adding three assists. He continued his torrid pace with another 4 goal performance on Saturday to lead the team once again. Cole Reschny continues to lead the team and the league with 36 points in 8 games. Pryce Thiessen is right behind with 32 points including 21 goals. West Central sits at a perfect 8-0 to lead the Centre Four division. Next action for the Pee Wee AA Wheat Kings is November 22 in Tisdale.


Bantam AA

The Bantam AA Wheat Kings had a pair of games on the road this weekend starting in Yorkton on Friday against the Terriers. West Central lost to Yorkton 5-2 with Kaden Veller leading the team with a goal and an assist in the defeat. They finished the road trip in Melville and once again were defeated 4-2 at the hands of the Millionaires. Karson Blanchette leads the team with 17 points in 8 games. Next action for the Bantams is a home game against the Saskatoon Bandits in Macklin on Friday at 8:15pm where they will be looking for their first win of the season as they sit with a 0-8 record.
