Delisle Chiefs

The Delisle Chiefs of the PJHL were in action this past weekend with a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday. They were up against Fort Knox on Saturday and it was a closely contested game. The Chiefs lost early in overtime just over 1 minute in on a goal by Trey Stocker, 4-3. Austin Linnen scored a pair of goals and Plenty native Chad Westman added a goal and two assists in the defeat.

The Chiefs were back on the ice Sunday as they hit the road for a game against the Saskatoon Royals. Delisle fell behind early and were down 2-0 after the first period by rallied to tie in early in the second on goals by Austin Linnen and Mitchell Girolami. But the Royals got the last two including a goal by Kindersley native Dylan Francis and lost the game 4-2. Francis has 19 points in 15 games for the Royals this season.

Plenty’s Chad Westman continues to lead the Chiefs in scoring with 17 points in 10 games played. Austin Linnen is right behind with 16 points in 10 games played and Jaden Shewchuk leads the team in goals with 8. Delisle is 7-2-1 after 10 games in the PJHL this season, good enough for 3rd in the Bob Dybvig division. The Chiefs will be home to the Saskatoon Quakers on Saturday at 7:30 at the Delisle Arena in their next game.


West Central Rage

The West Central Rage were also on the ice for a pair of games in Carrot River this past weekend. The team could not get in the win column, however, and lost both games. They lost the first game on Saturday 5-2 against Carrot River with Blake Fennig and Zachary Ludwig lighting the lamp for West Central in the loss.

The Rage were right back at it on Sunday against the same Thunder. West Central had a much better start and were actually leading 3-2 early in the third period on goals by Troy Joyce, Jackson Kostuik and Jared Kocsis. But they squandered that lead giving up 3 goals in the last 10 minutes including one into the empty net and losing 5-3. The Rage sit with a 3-13-1 record and will be home to the Saskatoon Quakers on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm in Kerrobert.
