Kindersley bull rider Dakota Buttar had a strong showing this past August long weekend. Buttar was competing in the Frog Lake PBR event. Buttar's strong weekend began in round 1 when he managed to stay on 'Honkey Sam' for the required 8 seconds, and he scored 87.5 points. For his second run he secured his place a top the leader board after covering 'OMB Legal Issues' and was scored an event-best 87.5 points.

The first place finish on Sunday is Buttar's twelfth top 10 finish of the year in Canada. By the end of the weekend Buttar had claimed just over $4000 in winnings and fain 360 Canadian points, and 65 world ranking points.

In the national standings Buttar has maintained his number 3 ranking, and he is looking to close the gap with number 1. Maple Creek native Jared Parsonage current;y holds the number one Canadian spot with a 135 point lead. 

Buttar now sits in the 28th spot on the world rankings. He needs to stay above 35 to enter the world championships later this year.
