Warmer temperatures in west central Saskatchewan indicate baseball, softball, and soccer leagues are about to kick off soon. But, believe it or not, the hockey season has not yet finished -- at least for one team.

For the Delisle Bruins of the Saskatchewan Valley Hockey League, they have endured through both regular season and playoffs schedules, along with a tournament schedule for the senior C provincials. Not to mention their season began nearly five months ago.

Now, as we reach the final day of March, the team has one more hill to climb with a final game on home ice.

Game 3 of the best-of-three senior C provincial finals takes place at the Delisle Arena between the Bruins and the Raymore Rockets of the Highway Hockey League. To say the organization, the fans, and the town are ecstatic about the final game of the season being at home is putting it lightly.

Darryl Souster, head coach of the Delisle Bruins, is proud of his players for battling every game on their way to the finals of the tournament. As he explains, the team have played a number of challenging opponents every step of the way to make it this far.

No doubt the Rockets are another club full of talent and skill standing in the Bruins path on their way to the championship. Each game of the series has finished by a close margin as well. The Bruins took game 1 by a high scoring affair of 6-5 in Delisle, and the second match-up finished with a final score of 2-1 for the Rockets in Raymore.

After a competitive couple games thus far, Souster and the players have developed a large amount of respect for the team in this series.

Tonight's game will be at the Delisle Arena with opening puck drop scheduled for 8:30 PM.
