"Village of Hope" out of Eston received some special recognition inside the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly back on April 8.

Following question period, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, and current Biggar-Sask Valley MLA Randy Weekes introduced former Speaker, and MLA for Moosomin Don Toth. Toth was in attendance with two representatives from Village of Hope, the Christian based addictions treatment centre that opened up a program in Eston last year.

"Alongside Don is Märt and Andrew Vähi, directors with Village of Hope. They operate a campus in Eston." shared Weekes, before asking all members to welcome the guests to the Assembly.

Toth and the Vähi's were then met with greetings from current Moosomin MLA Steven Bonk, who was happy to welcome the former constituency mate, and also opposition member for Regina Rosemont Trent Wotherspoon, who in his greeting recalled past parliamentary proceedings with Toth as Speaker.

The final greeting came from Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Seniors and Rural and Remote Health Tim McLeod, who was eager to discuss their operation in more detail following question period.

"Very pleased that they could be here. These individuals are the co-founders of Village of Hope, Mr. Speaker, and I’m looking forward to meeting with them after question period today to discuss further the great work that they’re doing." said McLeod, offering up the final greeting from the assembly.

Village of Hope was able to move into the former Eston Bible College building last August. In fact, Eston College actually gave up their campus to Village of Hope, as you can read more about that move from a Town of Eston release HERE.
