Red Lions action is back this weekend with a couple exciting match-ups for fans.

Saturday night, Kindersley will travel southwest to visit the Eatonia Huskies for their second meeting this season. The first game did not end well for the Red Lions as they were bombarded with 9 Huskies goals in a 9-4 loss at the Eatonia Memorial Arena.

"Obviously we want to go in there and prove that was just a one-off," said Red Lions captain Jonny Calkins, speaking about their rematch with the Huskies. "I think we're a better team than that, and we'll be ready to go Saturday."

The following night will feature a home game against the league's only undefeated team thus far, the Macklin Mohawks. "It will be another test for us," said Calkins. "It's kind of a measuring stick for us to see where we're at in the league."

Calkins is leading the team in assists and points so far this season on a roster already loaded with talent. The club experienced some turnover during the offseason and have brought in new blood to make them a dangerous opponent for the rest of the league. "Guys like Jared Erickson and Nick Neurater have really turned some heads," explained Calkins. "You need young, local guys to be able to compete."

Puck drop for Sunday's Red Lions home game is set for 7:30 PM at the Co-op Arena at West Central Events Centre.
