The SJHL having to hand out supplementary discipline after just the first weekend of the regular season, with three suspensions handed out by the new three-person panel handling discipline this season.

The first was an incident which the entire league was talking about yesterday. Greg Mulhall has been given a 25-game ban effective immediately for his hit on goaltender Berk Berkeliev of the Melville Millionaires on Saturday. Mulhall was given a match penalty for a deliberate attempt to injure during the game. Mulhall will be eligible to return to the Terriers lineup on November 22nd, when Yorkton plays La Ronge.

The second suspension announced by the league was to Kyle Schneider of the Melfort Mustangs. He was given an additional three games after being assessed a gross misconduct on Saturday.

The third suspension from the opening weekend of the league was to Jonathan Krahn of the Melville Millionaires. He was suspended for a slash in Friday’s game against Yorkton. He will be eligible to return to the lineup on September 24th.
