The first snowfall of the season hit most of Saskatchewan on Sunday, but luckily enough here in west central we reversed right back to the fall season that we hope to enjoy for at least a couple more weeks.

With the snow melt beginning early this morning, some drivers around the area may have noticed some fog on their commute as the sun came up.

A key ingredient in the forming of fog is the melting of snow. There is a lot more that goes into it, but a quick melt does usually play a factor in either low level clouds, or fog during an early morning this time of year.

This can cause keeping a safe following distance to be a little tricky, and other aspects of road safety as well. Drivers are reminded to switch on their fog lights when visibility is less than 50 meters. This is also a smart idea when in heavy snowfall conditions.
