During the May 24th meeting of Kindersley Town Council a 3 year agreement was entered into with the newly created community-led Norman Ritchie Centre Management Inc.

The management group which received status as a non-profit corporation in February, officially took over management of the Norman Ritchie Centre in June.  The 3 year agreement with Town Council is effective until May 24th, 2016.

The management group currently consists of eight members with Patti-Brotzell-Close serving as the chairperson.  The board has room for up to 15 members, but can only be nominated and elected at their annual general meeting.  There is currently room for non-voting members for anyone who is interested in joining.

The Norman Ritchie Center Management Group currently has a few projects underway including the repairs to the Center's roof. Construction on the roof is expected to take place in August, and will prevent any potential leaks.

The Norman Ritchie Center has received over $100,000 in grants this year for projects from both The Canada Infrastructure Program and Kindersley Initiatives Program.  Other projects being focused on are upgrading the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and alarm systems, as well as removing the steeple from the building and renovating the facade.

Currently the two groups represented by the management board are the Kindersley and District Arts Council, and the Kindersley Players community theater group.  The Sunwest School Division InDep Program is operated out of the facility during the school year.

The Norman Ritchie Community Center features an auditorium with stage, meeting room and basement.  The Auditorium has a capacity of 240 concert style,  and 189 dinner theater style.
