Senior baseball is officially back on in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League. Two games played last night in Lloydminster and Mervin opened up the 2024 campaign, the action resuming out of west-central Saskatchewan tonight in Unity.

The Unity Cardinals will be hosting the Mervin Flyers, the home opener set for 6:30. It's the first of two this week for the Cardinals, Unity set to travel to Glaslyn on Thursday for game two of their regular season.

Unity joins the Wilkie Brewers as the two local teams on the list. Wilkie's season won't get started until May 26, when they enter the race head first with a Sunday doubleheader against the Oil City Ducks and Standard Hill Lakers.

The local teams join the usual suspects of the Mervin Flyers, Standard Hill Lakers, Lloydminster Twins, North Battleford Beavers, and Glaslyn Orioles. Rounding out the list are the two new teams in the Lashburn Cardinals, and Oil City Ducks.
