The author of a report on nuclear power says supporters have exaggerated the prospect of Saskatchewan exporting electricity from a nuclear facility.
The report by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives says building a nuclear power plant would be too expensive because of the construction costs.
It also says Saskatchewan would have to compete with lower cost hydro-electricity from B-C, Manitoba, Washington and Oregon.
Ontario-based Bruce Power had proposed building a large-scale nuclear plant in Saskatchewan, but the province said last December that it didn't support nuclear power at this time.
