Town Councilor and Downtown Kindersley Association member Randy Ervine helped enlighten us on the beautification process of downtown Kindersley.

"Years ago we beautified the downtown with the street lamps that you see right from railway to the highway, along with benches, flowers and good looking garbage and recycling bins, that kind of thing just to keep it fresh."

The Downtown Kindersley Association has been in existence for decades and their objective is to attract people to the downtown shopping area and to keep it looking good for anyone who is in the area shopping retail, groceries or banking. The main events that they put on (or are a part of) are the Christmas Kick-off, Car shows, Goosefest, and Kindersley Indoor Rodeo.

The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month (excluding July & August) at noon at The Highway Host on main street. "Everybody eats lunch and it's just a chance to get together and look at what's coming up, and hopefully get some volunteers to pull off the events. We have a visit and no one gets burdened with a big amount of stuff."

Ervine had one last message "hopefully the farmers are going to get a crop, and the energy businesses thrive. The combination of those two have kept us going in this community for decades, and hopefully there's no end to it."
