Cody Sutherland of Rosetown, and his team of Landon Field of Weyburn, James Hom of Regina and Jack Reid of North Battleford, have recently qualified for the CurlSask Junior Provincial Curling Championship Dec. 27 to Jan. 1. Only the top 8 under age 21 teams in the province will play at the Sutherland Curling Club in Saskatoon.

All members of the team are attending the University of Saskatchewan this year. After many of years of competing against each other, they found themselves all at the same location and decided to curl together on this competition team. Their season started in mid September at the Junior Grand Slam in North Battleford. From there they have been practicing and curling in both U21 and Men's spiels. The CurlSask Junior Qualifying event was held in Estevan in early December and Team Sutherland's only loss was to the defending provincial champions. Their record of 5 wins and 1 loss placed them in the second rank leading into the provincials.
