The province reported another double-digit increase of new cases, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 512.

Twenty-five new cases were reported today, 24 of which are from the far north with 22 of those being specifically in La Loche who has seen consistently high numbers of new cases over the last few days. The one remaining case was reported from the Saskatoon region.

The far north now has a total of 152 cases and is only surpassed by Saskatoon who, to date, has reported 163. However, the far north has 138 active cases, while Saskatoon sits with 17.

Two more people have recovered from the virus, making the total number of active cases 194. This is the highest number the province has seen, topping the previous high of 179 on April 5, when there were 249 total confirmed cases. 

Thirteen people remain in hospital, nine are receiving inpatient care, while four are in intensive care. 

The Saskatchewan Health Authority presently has one confirmed COVID-19 case of a staff member at the Meadow Lake Hospital. This case at the hospital was linked to community-transmission. To date, no patients have presented with symptoms of COVID-19.  Although subject to change, there are no current service disruptions at the hospital. 

Additionally, at the request of Stony Rapids and La Ronge, the public health order restricting non-essential travel in the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District, has been amended to include the two communities effective today.
