Girls volleyball playoffs are in full swing for teams in the West Central region with conference playoffs being held all over the province with teams trying to move on to regionals this weekend. In the 3A girls conference Kindersley held conferences with the top 3 teams advancing to regionals this upcoming weekend. Rosetown, Unity and Dalmeny will be heading to regionals in Dalmeny after placing in the top 3 this past weekend. Other teams at the regionals will be La Loche, Maidstone and Eagleview at Onion Lake. Rosetown is set to play their first game at 9 am on Saturday and Unity will get started at noon in the first of back to back games for them.

In the 2A conference playoffs the north conference 3 was held in Wilkie this past weekend with the top 2 teams moving on. Macklin and McLurg from Wilkie will be heading to regionals to be held in Macklin this weekend after advancing to the final game against each other. Macklin won the conferences 2 sets to 0 against McLurg and will be on the court at 11 am on Saturday. McLurg will be on the court earlier starting at 9 am. Other teams at regionals are Minahik Waskahigan, Island Lake, Pierceland, and Ile-a-La-Crosse.

In other 2A conference play, the west conference 1 was held in Shaunavon with the top 2 teams moving on. There were five teams in all from the West Central region at the tournament including Plenty, Eston, Biggar, Eatonia, and Beechy. Plenty and Eston made the semi finals with Plenty moving on to the finals and Eston bowing out to Shaunavon in their semi in two sets. Plenty and Shaunavon faced off in the finals with Shaunavon coming out on top in three sets to claim the victory. Plenty will move on to regionals at Saskatoon Christian this weekend. Plenty will be joined by LCBI, Saskatoon Christian, Davidson, Shaunavon, and MJ Conerstone at the regionals this weekend. Plenty will be on the court early against Saskatoon Christian at 9 am.

The Mackin Sr. Girls will be moving on to regionals at home this weekend in Macklin after a very successful season where the girls won their home tournament, gold in Nipawin and winning Mega Volley earlier on this season.
