Playoffs in the Sask West Hockey League(SWHL) and Sask Valley Hockey League(SVHL) are on to the second round.

The Rosetown Redwings had an early exit in the first round of SVHL playoffs, losing their series 2-0 to the lower seeded Loreburn 19ers. Forwards Kyle Ireland and Jared Jagow led the team in points in the 2 games, with 3 assists and 3 goals respectively. The Redwings season is still alive in the provincial C playoff, currently leading Wadena 1-0 in a best of three after an 8-2 victory in game 1 and won game 2 in Rosetown by a score of 10-4. The Redwings will be taking on a familiar foe in round 2, the Delisle Bruins, after they dispatched the Tisdale Ramblers in two straight as well. The series between the two SVHL teams have not yet had times announced for the series at this time.

The Unity Miners faced a tough match up in round one of the SWHL playoffs against the Kindersley Sr Klippers. A hard fought tilt in Game 1 proved closer on the ice than the scoreboard, as the score was 8-0 for Kindersley. A few days later in Unity Game 2 took place with the Miners facing elimination. They led at various points in the hockey game, but allowed the Klippers to claw back time and time again. A dagger 6-4 goal by Shayne Neigum before they could even pull the net-minder, sealed the Miners fate. Before Game 1 of the Klippers series, Birch Hills was in town to face the Miners in Game 1 of their provincial series, which ended in a tight 4-3 overtime loss to their provincial counterpart. Game 2 was worse for the road team Miners, losing 5-1 to cap off their disappointing season.

The Wilkie Outlaws finished the SWHL season in first place yet again, facing the lowest seeded Biggar Nationals in round 1 of the postseason. Biggar proved a tough test in Game 1 coming into the SaskCan Community Centre and going up early on the highly favoured Outlaws, but Wilkie came back to win Game 1 in overtime 3-2. The Outlaws then rolled into Biggar for Game 2 and prevailed, beating the Nationals 8-5. They will be taking on the Hafford Hawks in the SWHL semi's, with that series starting in Wilkie on February 13th. As for provincials, the Outlaws took Game 1 of their match up against the Outlook Ice Hawks, 8-1 and will be in action against the Ice Hawks this Saturday down in Outlook for a 7:30 puck drop at the Jim Kook Rec Plex.
