The Kindersley Sr. Klippers started off their regular season this past weekend by splitting the two games they played on Friday and Saturday. First the Klippers headed up to Kerrobert and had no trouble defeating the Tigers who are just back in the league after a one year break. Kindersley scored early and often in the game building up a 5-0 lead just over 5 minutes into the game. As the dust settled the game was never close after that with the final score being 14-3 for the Klippers. Shayne Neigum and newcomers Presten Kopeck and Tate Page had big nights for the team. Neigum alone tallied 7 points with 4 goals and Kopeck had 6 points in the win along with Page penciled in 4 times on the score sheet. Others on the score sheet were newcomer Rhys Kipling with a goal and an assist and Damon McKenzie with 2 goals and an assist to round up the major scoring for t he team.

Things were a little different on Saturday night at home against the Macklin Mohawks. The Klippers did get on the board first with a power play goal late in the first period by Brody Ryberg, but that was all the scoring for Kindersley on the night. Macklin took over from there and scored 4 unanswered goals including an empty net goal winning 4-1. Cody McKinnon led the way for the Mohawks with 3 points and Spencer Bast and Carsen Stang had two points in the victory. Nathan Hargrave played outstanding in goal making 45 saves in the win. Kindersley will now play in Luseland on Friday night and host Unity on Saturday.
