Six new cases of COVID-19 were announced on Thursday, to along with 4 recoveries, in the government's latest COVID-19 report.

Of the six new confirmed cases three cases are in the north with 2 in Lloydminster, 2 in Saskatoon, and one more in the far north in La Loche.

Eighty-eight of the cases are considered active. With the four new recoveries the provincial total now sits at 295.

The cases between males and females is now split down the middle exactly, with 50 % for each gender as of April 30.

The death toll remains at six. Currently, there are 10 people in hospital – seven are receiving inpatient care with four in Lloydminster and three in Saskatoon, while three are in intensive care in Saskatoon.

137 of cases are travel-related, 159 are either contacts or linked to a mass gathering event, 36 have no known exposures and 57 are under investigation by local public health.

The government is reiterating to take precautions when forming an extended household group saying:

  • Your families or friends must remain consistent. Do not visit different families or friends.
  • If you are going to create an extended household group, consider if any member of the group has chronic health conditions that would put them at greater risk, or if they are in close contact with someone who could be vulnerable.
  • Gatherings – inside or outside – must follow the public health order and be no more than 10 people.
  • Stay home if you are sick and
  • Maintain physical distancing by keeping two-metres apart.

You should always be aware of who you have been in contact with over the past two weeks. These are the people who would need to be contacted by public health if you were to test positive for COVID-19, the release concluded.
