It was a rollercoaster weekend for members and supporters of the U13 AA West Central Wheat Kings. Despite a pair of exciting games, the Wheat Kings season ended with a first-round exit.

The team was in a must-win situation Friday night on home-ice against the Saskatoon Fury and came away with the victory 6-5 to extend their season. As you can see below, Landon Reschny 's hat-trick played a big part in the Game 2 win.

Sunday's game in Saskatoon got off to a tough start as the Wheat Kings found themselves down 5-0 halfway through the game, though Wheat Kings forward Brayden McBride was able to stop the bleeding with two goals at the end of the second to make it 5-2 headed into the third. Levi Thiessen scored for the Wheat Kings to bring them within two, but that is as close as West Central would get as the final six minutes ticked off the clock to finish the game 5-3.

With the weekend result, all levels of West Central Wheat Kings and Western Prairie Thunder AA hockey is now over and done with. Find regular season records below and follow the links to view the complete team page for the 2023-2024 season.
