The U18 AA West Central Wheat Kings are playing some good hockey to end the season. The team has collected points in each game played since January 27, even putting together a nice three game win streak in the process.

They won 5-2 over the Humboldt Broncos on February 17 to push the most recent streak to three, and then two overtime losses on the road last weekend helped them keep pace in the standings, currently hanging onto seventh place in the Centre Four.

Playing in all 31 games so far, forwards Austin Schafer and Kaegan Lowe have been leading the team in scoring all season long. Sitting well above a point-per-game, Schafer leads the team in goals with 25, and points with 44. Lowe is just behind him with 41 points, helped out by his team-leading 22 assists.

The U18 Wheat Kings have two games left in the regular season, both on home ice. First off on Saturday, the Wheat Kings will be in Unity as they host the Martensville Marauders for a 2:00 PM puck drop. On Sunday the Wheat Kings will move south to Kerrobert, hosting the North West Stars for another 2:00 PM start.

Some teams are still in the regular season, others are looking forward to the postseason, or are done for the year. Check out the upcoming local AA games this weekend below.
