With teams around the league dealing with COVD 19 protocals, the Kindersley Jr. Klippers suddenly went from a one game weekend, to a zero game weekend, to a double header weekend that started in Kindersley Friday night against the Battlefords North Stars. The Klippers played a much more complete 60 minutes than their previous outing, but some bad bounces for the Klippers would end up in their net and they'd take a 3-0 loss.

In the first period, the Klippers got off to a slow start even though they did get a powerplay just over two minutes in, but the powerplay was also the first with some of the new faces on the team being worked in and they hadn't quite found their stride. The play would stay in the Klippers zone for most of the first ten minutes.

After that, the Klippers started to find some push back. It wouldn't be until after the halfway mark of the period where the Klippers really started to generate momentum on a penalty kill when Noah Lindsay went to the box for crosschecking. On that man advantage, the North Stars were kept to the outside and managed one shot, but for the most part they didn't have a lane to shoot or had their shots blocked.

The second man advantage for the Klippers came shortly after, and this one looked much better. They managed two shots and had a third dangerous chance when the newly acquired Cameron Rimstad crashed in on the forecheck in the corner, and the puck popped off his skate right through an open slot where no one was, otherwise the Klippers would have had an easy tap in.

After 1: Klippers 0 - 0 North Stars, shots 17-6 North Stars

The Klippers got an early powerplay in the second, and on that powerplay Rimstad found Aiden Bangs for a great onetimer opportunity that saw Lowen Kenyon make a great save to keep this one tied, and off the insuing faceoff the North Stars would score shorthanded. Rimstad went after a loose puck near the blue line and fell into teammate Brayden Koch, which gave Dylan Esau a break up the right side of the ice. Koch was able to catch up to him but couldn't get his stick in the way of Esau's shot, beating Pesenti fivehole for the game's first goal 1:54 into the second period.

From there, the Klippers started to pick up the play and put some great chances together through the rest of the period. Another successful Klippers penalty kill would give them some more momentum, and Pesenti would continue to lock things down in net. The Klippers would work a lot of chances from behind the net, putting pucks into the slot for a potential onetimer or tip, but a lot of passes would just barely miss the mark.

The best chance of the period saw Josh Danis in his own zone fire a pass through a tough line at centre ice ahead to Coletyn Boyarski at centre, giving him a one-on-one chance that he put on net for a good opportunity. At the other end, the after a solid Peseti save, some contact from his own defence knocked him over to his back and the North Stars shot, and somehow the puck stayed out of the net when there was a wide open cage.

After 2: Klippers 0 - 1 North Stars, shots 10-7 Klippers in the period, 24-16 North Stars overall

The Klippers got their fourth powerplay of the game in the first minute of the period when Ethan Scriven went to the box for slashing, and right away a couple shots would find their way through traffic and on the net, but still nothing would get by Kenyon and the powerplay would end.

Just over four minutes into the period, the Klippers gave up a very unfortunate goal. A shot from the blueline by North Stars call up Jacob Ziegler would be blocked in front by Carson Baylis when he knocked the puck out of the air with his stick, but the puck would go the opposite direction Pesenti was sliding and right to the stick of Steven Kesslering who made the easy tap in to put his team up by two.

Still the Klippers didn't back down and kept pace with the North Stars through the period, but again an unfortunate timed play for the Klippers would end up in the back of their own net. With a puck battle between Koch and North Stars forward Ryland McNinch, Aiden Bangs came in and tried to poke the puck around the two of them to go behind the net. The puck hit the back of McNinch, who turned and centred a pass for Jake Southgate in the slot who onetimed it home for a 3-0 lead with under seven minutes left.

FINAL: Klippers 0 - 3 North Stars, shots 12-6 Klippers in the period, 30-28 North Stars overall
