It's been a gorgeous summer overall in all areas in West Central Saskatchewan, which has put more bodies in the cool waters at local swimming pools.

The Biggar Aquatic Centre has been one of the top venues so far this summer, and will be closing down after this Saturday. Numbers and attendance throughout the summer have managed to stay consistently high, which means business has been good.

In the spring time, the Aquatic Centre received some upgrades in the locker room areas with brand new floor tiles, new shower-heads and other new supplies to help satisfy all of their swimmers. People gave really good feedback to the upgrades and have continued to support the local business ever since the changes were made.

The Biggar Barracuda Swimming Club has used the facility for many years, and many of the opponent towns that use the pool have nothing but good things to say about their experience.

Swimming lessons for all ages, lane-swim and public swim times have been flexible all summer long, with numbers continuing to grow throughout the year as the temperatures got warmer.

Back in 2015, there were more improvements done to the pool with a brand new concession booth and a large shaded spectator for the public to get some shade for those hot summer days. Both of these additions have really helped benefit the swimmers, and made for a better atmosphere.
