Colby Hough, a seventh grader at Eston Composite School, was selected to go to the nation’s capital for his heritage fair project.

The 12-year-old was one of two students from Saskatchewan to participate in Canada's History Young Citizens Youth Forum in Ottawa.

Colby won the Natural Award at Saskatoon's Regional Fair and 8 students were chosen to make a video of their heritage fair project. Approximately 20 kids from Saskatchewan submitted videos online, and around 200 students entered in the competition nationally.

Two students from each province and territory were chosen to go on the trip.

Colby was selected to represent the province in Ottawa, and he talked about what the trip was like.

The war museum was Colby’s favourite part of the trip.

Colby’s project was on the history and development of Banff, which he visited with his family in the summer of 2015.
