Members of Kindersley Town Council met for the first time in three at the town office on Monday evening with a number of topics to touch on after the extended break.

Two delegations kicked off the first meeting of June. Food truck business owner Jackie Altomare of Mater Tasty Concessions headed the first presentation requesting a definite answer on how she can conduct her business within the town's limits. On council's side of the situation, they were looking to further understand the delegation's intentions for business.

Upon further discussion on the matter, council carried motions for both regulations which will be in effect for food truck services wishing to conduct business in the town, and approving Altomare's request to operate a mobile food vending business in Kindersley.

The second delegation involved local resident and business owner Tyler Bobbee requesting a zone change for a residential property in Kindersley. Bobbee approached council to consider changing the property in the C3 zone on 12th Avenue North to accommodate his business activity.

Once the delegations were completed, Director of Community Services Tim Hanna presented a gift to council on behalf of the performers from the RCMP Musical Ride. The encased Canada 150 commemorative flag was gifted by the Musical Ride performers after the great hospitality shown by the town from their performances last month.

Mayor Rod Perkins mentioned how council and administration are interested in displaying the flag at the West Central Events Centre.

Council and administration touched on the 19 local organizations which will be receiving funds as part of the Kindersley Community Initiatives Program (KCIP) as well. The annual program allows organizations and groups to submit an application for funds which will contribute to programming, operations, and other activities.
