Fort Walsh National Historic Site is once again open for business.

The park re-opened on Canada Day, after being closed after floods hit the area last month.

Site Manager Royce Pettyjohn says it was a tough spring for them. Blizzards closed the roads for a bit in May on top of the heavy rains, floods, and washouts. Fortunately, everything is back to normal for the park now.

Pettyjohn adds that they are holding their biggest event of the year today. The Historic Trades Day will run from 10-5 with events such as blacksmith demonstrations, Metis dancing, and period weapons demonstrations taking place.
