The rinks had lots of action last night.

Despite Friday's chilly weather, people from all over the province flooded the rinks to see their beloved teams at their best.

In the Sask Valley Hockey League, the Beechy Bombers beat the Outlook Ice Hawks on home ice last night 8-6.

The Ice Hawks are heading in to Rosetown tonight to face the Rosetown Sask Valley Redwings at 8pm in the Rosetown Arena.

The Rosetown Sask Valley Redwings were in Kyle last night, and played a good game but lost to the Elks 9-2.

The Elks are hosting the Elrose Aces tonight at 8pm at the Kyle Sports Centre.

And the Delise Bruins took a victory on home ice over the Eston Ramblers 9-2 last night at the Delisle Arena.

The Bruins are set next to take on the Loreburn 19ers at the Loreburn Rink.  The puck drops at 8pm.

The Kenaston Blizzard are also set to face the Lucky Lake/ Dinsmore Dynamoes tonight.  The game begins at 8:30pm.


The Sask West Hockey League saw the Kinderlsley Red Lions taking the victory over the Eatonia Huskies last night.

The Huskies are now going up against the Macklin Mohawks tonight at the Macklin and District Communiplex.

The puck drops at 8pm.

The Kindersley Red Lions are up next against the Unity Miners at 8pm tonight at the West Central Events Centre.

The Unity Miners lost to the Macklin Mohawks last night 7-6.  

The Mohawks are now defending a two-win streak.

The Biggar Nationals won a game on home ice over the Wilkie Outlaws 7-4 at the Biggar Jubilee Stadium.

This is the Outlaw's first loss of the season; the team is still first in the standings with a 14-1 record.

And in the NHL:

Jets rookie, Connor Hellebuyck made 24 saves and Blake Wheeler scored early to lead Winnipeg to win over

Minnesota last night.

Hellebuyk earned his second shutout of the season as the Minnesota Wild were held without a goal
for the first time all year.

Hellebuyck stopped 24 shots and Winnipeg got an early goal from Blake Wheeler to edge the Wild 1-0
in Minnesota.

Canucks player, Bo Horvat scored twice, including the Over-Time winner, to lift the Canucks in to a victory over Carolina 3-2.

The Toronto Maple Leafs fell 4-1 to Chicago. Patrick Kane scored three goals to give the Blackhawks their 10th straight victory.
