It was a good rocking time for Harris based band Seven Mile Sun this past weekend. The trio of Kimberley and Kevin Stevens, along with Joanne Genest, were in Saskatoon Friday night, and then in Rosetown Saturday.

Lead guitarist Kevin Stevens talks about the show in Saskatoon back on Friday.

“It was really great. The Coors Event Centre is such a good venue and Andy Kulick doing the sound there just does a phenomenal job. I just love the sound in that building, so we were able to play loud and proud, and I think we showed everybody what we're about.”

Things then shifted to Rosetown on Saturday night, as the local band played at the Rosetown Civic Centre. The show was supposed to be in conjunction with a slo-pitch tournament, but the ball was canceled due to the rainy weather. Stevens said the show was a big hit, as everyone was eager to watch the band live.

“There were probably around 200 people out at the dance, so we had an excellent night there too. It was awesome.”

Stevens recapped the two shows.

“Friday night was one set, 45 minutes of all original stuff, kind of show them what you got. And then Saturday night, we played our original stuff and then a lot of covers, which is just lots of fun for us too. It's a little more relaxing.”

As for future plans, the local band is planning to do some recording for their second studio album.

“We have some studio time booked in July, which we're really looking forward to doing. We've got a lot of songs lined up to get our second album done and we're excited to work on that,” Stevens added.

Seven Mile Sun consists of Kevin Stevens on lead guitar/vocals, Kimberly Stevens on drums/vocals, and Joanne Genest on bass guitar/vocals.
