In their first year back in the league since 2019, the Kindersley Stallions are Fertile Valley Baseball League champions.
The Stallions took home the league's championship trophy for 2023 after a 10-4 win on Monday night against the host Rosetown Angels. The Stallions won Game 1 on Sunday night 16-6.
The Angels were playing great baseball headed into the final series after a blowout wildcard game against Eatonia, and a shocking series sweep against the top-seeded Oyen Eagles. Rosetown had an impressive season in 2023 and just seemed to run out of gas at the finish line against a very formidable opponent.
The Stallions on the other-hand now have their second FVBL Championship after winning in 2019, matching their two times finishing as runners-up.
This year's trophy will go next to the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League crown they won in 2021. The Stallions better have some strong shelf space in their stables should they continue their winning ways.
