The Unity RCMP detachment had a relatively quiet second week in March. Railway crossing malfunctions, fires that were extinguished before emergency crews could respond, and a complaint of gas theft at a local gas station. The gas complaint was resolved after members talked with the subject of the complaint and they returned to pay for the gas.

Unity Report:

  • RCMP received a complaint of assault. This matter is still under investigation.
  • CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction near Unity. Reported for information purposes.
  • Members received a complaint of uttering threats but the victim requested no further action be taken. Reported for information purposes.
  • Police received a report of an individual loitering near a residence. Members patrolled but could not locate a subject of complaint.
  • RCMP received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. Members contacted the subject of complaint who agreed to return to pay for the fuel. No charges were laid.
  • Members attended the sudden death of an infant in Unity. The death was not suspicious in nature.
  • Police received a report of trespassing. Members attended but could not locate a subject of complaint.
  • RCMP received a report of a fire at a rural residence south of Unity. The occupants had extinguished the blaze before Unity Fire Department had arrived. Unity Fire Department took steps to ensure the blaze did not resume, The fire was not suspicious in nature.

Wilkie Report:

  • RCMP received a complaint of an individual seen with drug paraphernalia near a residence. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of complaint.
  • Members assisted an individual who required transportation to a residence.
  • Police received a report of two individuals looking inside a parked vehicle. Members patrolled but the subjects of complaint were gone on arrival.
  • An 82-year-old male from Battleford was charged with Assault after receiving a complaint of assault.
  • A 32-year-old male from Saskatoon was charged with four counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order Condition after Members received a complaint of an unwanted individual at a residence.
  • RCMP received a complaint of disturbing the peace. Members attended and spoke to the complainant and subject of complaint.

Macklin Report:

  • RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.
  • Members received a request to keep the peace while an individual retrieved property from a residence.
