High school football in the West Central region continued this past weekend with some teams moving on and some heading home. The Kerrobert Rebels in 1A 6 man conference 2 were on the field this weekend and were in a close back and forth affair that saw them come out on top 32-25 over Viscount on Saturday afternoon in Kerrobert. Despite the cold and windy conditions the Rebels managed to move the ball and according to head coach Troy Snider his team threw the ball when the team had the wind at his back and ran the ball when they were going into it. Snider was very pleased with the way both teams played despite the conditions and is happy with the way his team has played all year. The Rebels are heading to Raymore for the provincial semi finals this Saturday at 1 pm.

The Eaton School Spartans are moving on in the 1A 6 man conference 2 as well as they beat Hague 42-16 in Hague to move on to the provincial semi finals. Eaton School will now go to Southey and play in Saturday at 1 pm.

In 2A 6 man conference 2 playoff action Unity hosted Wynyard last Saturday in the provincial quarterfinals. After a back and forth three quarters Wynyard took the lead in the fourth quarter and came out on top 76-56 to end the Warriors season. It was a successful one for the team as they went undefeated in the regular season in conference play before bowing out to Wynyard in the playoffs.

The Rosetown Royals were on the field this weekend as well after beating Kindersley in overtime last Tuesday to move on to the provincial quarterfinals in 2A conference 2. The Royals headed to Watrous and came out on the short end of a 72-17 score. The final 4 teams left in the province are Birch Hills, Wynyard, Watrous, and Hafford.
