A withdrawal of noon hour supervision is set for Tuesday in local school divisions. The Sun West School Division and Living Sky School Division will join several across the province, after a handful of teachers associations were on strike Monday across Saskatchewan.

Last week the STF offered a path-forward to ending the job action by utilizing a third-party within binding arbitration. They offered a deadline of March 17, but the option was not exercised by the provincial government as the two-sides remain at a stalemate.

Fast forward to the start of the week, and it was announced that teachers would go on a provincewide strike on Wednesday, March 20. It was also announced that extracurricular activity support will be withdrawn for the following Thursday, and Friday.

While it wasn't due to job action, school was out on Monday for a majority of west-central Saskatchewan students.

The Sun West School Division has no class due to a "day in lieu of student led conferences", while the Living Sky School Division has a designated PD, non-student day to start the week.
