The Kindersley Jr. Klippers had a pair of games at the WCEC this weekend and managed to collect 4 points.

The Klippers defeated the Melfort Mustangs 3-2 in a shootout with the shootout winner going to Liam Fraser and Steven Bacovsky made the final save to preserve the victory.

Kindersley then faced the Melville Millionaires and came out firing on all 8 cylinders in the first period scoring 4 to take a 4-0 lead into the intermission.things got a little heated between Kindersley Jr Klipper, Tyler Traptow, and a Melville's Sabastien Archambault, during Sunday nights game. Tyler Traptow scored a pair in the second and Devon Cyr completed the hat trick and Liam Fraser also got in on the scoring to make it 7-0 Kindersley half way through the second. Melville got the next four goals, but it wasn’t enough as the Klippers held on for the 7-4 win.

Liam Fraser continues to lead the team in scoring with 25 goals and 40 points in 43 games played. Scott McKenzie has 33 points in 43 games and Tyler Traptow has 24 points in 39 games to wrap up the top 3 for the Klippers after the weekend.

The Klippers now sit with a 17-21-7 record which is 5 points behind the Estevan Bruins for the final playoff spot in the SJHL. Kindersley will now head on the road for two games starting in Humboldt tomorrow night at 7:30.
