The Kindersley Jr. Klippers started off the 2024 portion of the season with a 7-3 loss to the Nipawin Hawks. Alex Bernauer started his big night with Hawks scoring at 8:01 of the first period to give the hometown Hawks a 1-0 lead. They doubled that lead at the 12:00 mark, as Mason Karakochuk got his first of the season. Kindersley did bounce back 26 seconds later with Tylin Hilbig getting his 16th of the season, Logan Linklater picked up the assist to make it 2-1 Hawks. But just over two minutes later at 13:57 Bernauer got his second of the night to make the score 3-1. 

The Hawks kept coming in the second period, as Maguire Ratzlaff scored his 9th of the season just 53 seconds in to end Cody Jaman's night in the pipes, as the Klippers goaltender let in 4 goals on 16 shots. The lone bright spot of Wednesday's game for the Klippers Tylin Hilbig got his second of the game on the powerplay at 12:16 of the second, with the assists going to Linklater and Nathan DeGraves in his first game back for Kindersley since November 8. But Nipawin put this game away late in the second with Braeden Jockims scoring his 7th of the season at 15:01 and leading scorer Braxton Buckberger got his 14th of the season at 19:32 to make it 6-2.

The third period saw Kindersley make the score 6-3 at 6:30 with Cash Arntsen potting his 4th of the season. Zakery Anderson picked up the assist. Then at 10:43 Bernauer capped his big night with his hat trick goal and 7th of the season to put the game out of reach at 7-3 which was the final score in this one. Also having a big night for Nipawin was Artem Hrabovetskyi, who put up three assists in the Nipawin victory. 

Kindersley will look to bounce back against division rival Humboldt at the West Central Events Centre on Saturday. Puck drop will be 7:30 pm.
