Former Kerrobert Rebels receiver Jacob Ambros has always had a passion for the game. His football career started when he was only in eighth grade. He recently made the transition to playing for the Saskatoon Hilltops and is in his first year.

"I'm loving it. The game is a lot more intense. It's a lot of hard work and training but I wouldn't trade this experience for the world. I get along great with all of the guys and the coaches are always looking out for us."

Ambros' hometown is Kerrobert, home of the Rebels. Due to COVID-19, Ambros missed his senior year on the Rebels, but that doesn't mean he wasn't still on the field. In 2020, he was invited to participate in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge in Richmond, BC. The Fox 40 challenge invites some of the best football players in Canada. Ambros also played for the Saskatoon Minor Football League on Team Green 2. He states that his adventure with the Rebels paved the path for his junior career.

"I was hanging around with a lot of guys that in my grade 9 year who were playing post secondary like Clay MacKinnon and he was a big inspiration for me as well as Colt Beswitherick who also played in the CJFL."

Jacob Ambros makes his family and community proud. He says that his biggest supporters are his parents and his two sisters. They try and make it to every home game they can, and even some away games. It is great to see a local player make it in the CJFL.

"We play at home on Sunday and I am super pumped."

The Saskatoon Hilltops play the Winnipeg Rifles at home on September 26 at 1:00pm.
