Kindersley Town Council passed their 2016 Budget during Tuesday night's regular Town Council meeting, with the intention of bringing forth a budget with a 0% mill rate increase.  During preliminary estimates tax increase was believed to be needing a 3% increase for the people of Kindersley.  However, the 2016 Budget was able to absorb these costs and there will be no increase upon last year's taxes.  Council stated they were able to move the needed funds, mostly due to expansion in Kindersley, to avoid a tax increase and the budget reflects the changes in the local economy.  The mill rate was kept and approved at 15.35, with Council recognizing the need for sensitivity in the current economy.

During the meeting  Kindersley's Financial state was called very healthy.  With council agreeing that if ever there were a time for a 0% mill increase, that time was now.

Council did add that some may still see a tax increase based on assessments, but others could also see a tax decrease due to assessments as well.

The Budget also saw The Pool Reserve receive a contribution of $525,000, as well as $156,000 being put aside for a new fire hall.
