A local fire department has received a big boost from companies in the community.
Kindersley Fire has received a big donation of equipment to aid with their work throughout the area. The fire department took to social media Monday evening to announce the donation and post photos of the new equipment.
One of the donations made it possible for the department to purchase a cargo trailer which will hold many crucial pieces of equipment. Some of the materials the unit will be able to carry for firefighters include:
- highway traffic control and scene safety equipment
- ice water rescue equipment
- spill clean up materials
- wildland firefighting equipment and decontamination equipment
The trailer will also hold one of the department's latest and coolest rides for maneuvering through off-road terrain. A donated side by side ATV is equipped with a 65 gallon water tank, 2 1/2 HP Honda pump, and a 50 foot hose reel. Fire crews will be capable of accessing wildland fires easily and assisting at motor vehicle crashes with scene safety set up and take down with the new ATV.
The Rural Municipality of Kindersley contributed with the purchase of both the tank and pump which are mounted on the side by side unit.
All the donations were made possible by Raging River Exploration Inc. and Richardson Pioneer Foundation.
