The first Alberta clipper weather system of the year hit the West Central area this weekend, but back on Friday night, it was a 'Kindersley Klipper' rolling through the Wilkie Outlaws 5-2 at the West Central Events Centre.

The game started off fast with two goals around the first minute, though things stayed scoreless the rest of the frame. Then in the second things opened with Jonny Calkins scoring on a play from Shayne Neigum and Carson Grolla to make it 2-1, and then things flipped around as Shayne Neigum scored on a feed from Jonny Calkins, and Brandon Cummings also picked up a point on the play.

A powerplay goal from Darian Dziurzynski would give the Sr. Klippers a 4-1 lead headed into the third, and then another powerplay marker from Brody Ryberg made it 5-1 before Blake Young scored a goal to make the eventual final 5-2.

Wilkie was hoping for a chance to bounce back on Saturday against Kerrobert in their home opener, but the game was postponed due to weather.

The Sr. Klippers next game goes Saturday, November 12th at home against Unity.
