Some young local golfers wrapped up their time at the 2022 Saskatchewan Junior Golf Championships yesterday from the Royal Golf Club in Regina.

Good finishes from the area saw Chloe Wills from Kyle and the Saskatchewan Landing Golf Resort win out in the U15 Women's Championship, and Cort Tunall out of Eston and the Eston Riverside Regional Park Golf Club finish top 20 in the U19 Men's Championship.

Tunall finished the tournament +18. He shot a first round 72, and then an 80 the next day and a 79 to close out his tournament and secure a decent finish with an overall score of 231. Wills on the other hand led her group wire to wire over the three days to take home the win, shooting an impressive 78 on the first day. A second round 87 and third round 89 would close out her tournament with a total gross score of 254.

Another local player in the competition was Keaton Cote out of the Public Players Club: Zone 7 (Rivers West), as he shot 258 over his three rounds and finished tied for 41st.

Congrats to everyone involved, and good luck to everyone competing in golf tournaments throughout the rest of this summer.
