A few local players will be on the ice this weekend at Hockey Saskatchewan's Female Under-18 Program fall camp.

Rosetown goaltender Paige Fischer, Dinsmore defender Amiyah Jones, and Kyle forward Kaylee Williams are among the ones looking to earn a spot on the team as part of the Top 32. The roster will be cut down after this weekend for the National Women's U18 Championship in Dawson Creek, BC between November 5-11, 2023.

Team Saskatchewan will be setup for games at Merlis Belsher Place September 22-24. An intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday will take place between a game against the Saskatchewan Huskies Friday and Lakeland College on Sunday.

U18 aged players have been on this path since February with regional camps held across the province. Those who moved on were selected to the Sask First Tournament held in April, later moving onto the summer/fall camp.

"The process ensures all players not only have the opportunity to compete with their peers, but receive significant exposure as all Sask First events are highly attended by scouts from a variety of elite leagues. In addition, the Sask First Program is a gateway to Hockey Canada’s Female High Performance Program which includes their National Teams."
