The real estate market is one of the many different businesses to be affected by COVID-19, but sales appear to be steady this spring. Colby Houle is a Sales Representative with Royal LePage Wheat Country in Kindersley, and talked about getting things ready for open houses once again.

“We were given the go ahead to start open houses on May 25, signage is to be posted outlining the rules, visitors are to fill out a disclosure survey prior to entering any of the properties,” Houle said.

She added that, “another big one that we follow now is that only two people are allowed in the open houses, and anyone who is ill or in contact with anyone who is, should obviously stay home.”

“Use of hand sanitizer and wash stations are available for visitors, also minimizing contact with any surfaces in the home are other guidelines the open homes will have,” Houle says.

She also added that it was a buyers market this season with 102 residential properties on the market in Kindersley and listings are up from June 2019 which had roughly 70 active residential listings.
