There were multiple break and enters, reports of stolen vehicles and individuals damaging property during period of June 1 to June 7 in the Unity, Macklin, and Wilkie areas. Three separate break and enters were reported in the Town of Wilkie for the week, including one at rural residence, one at a local business and one at the Wilkie Fire Hall. There are no suspects at this time, and it is unknown if these three crimes are related.

There were also two separate vehicles reported stolen from a rural property in Wilkie. One vehicle was later located at Sweetgrass First Nation and the other was discovered in Wilkie. This matter is still under investigation. There was also damage to property at a school in Unity, and another break and enter at an oil lease near Evesham. 

There were also seven traffic complaints, two false alarms and one noise complaint.

UNITY REPORTS

RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter at a residence but it was unfounded.

Police received a complaint of defamatory libel. Members spoke to the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning.

CN Police requested assistance with a passenger who was disturbing the peace on a Via Rail Train. The subject of complaint was removed from the train and Members provided assistance with transportation.

Members are investigating another complaint of defamatory libel.

Police spoke to an individual regarding video recording permission laws.

RCMP attended a single vehicle collision on Highway 14. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.

CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Unity. Reported for information purposes.

Members are investigating damage to property at a school in Unity.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke with the subject of complaint.

Police received a complaint of theft from a quonset in a rural area near Senlac. This matter is still under investigation.

Members acted as mediators in a disagreement between neighbors.

RCMP received a complaint of disturbing the peace. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of complaint.

There were also two traffic complaints and one false alarm.

WILKIE REPORTS

RCMP assisted Saskatchewan Health Authority in locating an individual in the Detachment area.

Members are investigating a complaint of defamatory libel.

Police assisted Child and Family Services with a child welfare concern.

An individual spoke to Members regarding a curfew condition.

RCMP are investigating a Child Welfare Act complaint.

Members received a report of a cat on top of a power pole near Wilkie. SaskPower was contacted to retrieve the animal.

Police received a complaint of a break and enter at a rural residence near Wilkie. There are no suspects at this time.

RCMP received a report of a break and enter into a local business but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members attended a report of a break and enter at the Wilkie Fire Hall. There are no suspects at this time.

CN Police reported a train engine emitting smoke near Tramping Lake. Members attended with Unity Fire Department. The train did not start on fire but Unity Fire Department remained on scene until it was certain their services would not be required.

Police received a complaint of two vehicles stolen from a rural property near Wilkie. One vehicle was later located at Sweetgrass First Nation and the other was discovered in Wilkie. This matter is still under investigation.

Members assisted an individual in locating transportation.

RCMP received a complaint of an individual failing to comply with undertaking condition but it was unfounded.

Police received a complaint of an individual damaging residential property. This matter is still under investigation.

There were also five traffic complaints.

MACKLIN REPORT

RCMP received a report of off-road vehicle collision near Macklin. The vehicle driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Provost Health Centre by Emergency Medical Services.

Police received a report of harassing communications. This matter is still under investigation.

Members are investigating a report of a break and enter at an oil lease near Evesham.

There was also one false alarm and one noise complaint.
