Plans are now moving ahead on the proposed clinic move that west central online first reported on back in October. As was indicated by Reeve Geoff Legge, the Health Authority will be renovating space int he Rosetown Health Centre for a 'co-location project of health care providers.'

The project will look to enhance patient care by offering a variety of services in once location with the SHA stating, “co-location of health providers allows the opportunity to offer collaborative, team-based and patient-centred care for the community.”

The Rosetown and District Health Care Centre is where the planning committee will be working on redesigning the lower level to accommodate the additional services and health care providers.

“We were pleased to be asked to participate in the design process and we are excited to see plans coming together to offer primary health care services in one area in Rosetown like a ‘one-stop shop’ for patients. “said Rome Molsberry, Councillor for the Town of Rosetown.

The project team is comprised of patient and family advisors, representatives from physician groups, community services staff, Town of Rosetown and the RM of St. Andrews. The team held planning sessions in October and November to review how the space could be better utilized and improve the overall experience for the patient.

According to Paul Blaser, the architect leading the planning, data collected included:
• services offered
• wait times
• number of clients/patients seen
• hours of operation

Patient advisors for the project, Barb Slocombe and Judy McConnell, stated they are excited to see the process move forward and said, “It will be nice to have all of the patient’s healthcare needs met in one location.”
