The communities of Elrose and Kyle, as well as surrounding rural subscribers to the Saskatchewan Landing Regional Water Pipeline Utility (SLRWPU) are being charged new flat fees.

Each town is billed as a single subscriber, and then the residents bills are split up by the town. The SLRWPU bills rural subscribers separately.

A monthly flat fee of $65 has been added to the bills of rural north system subscribers, and $42.40 for south system subscribers. The south system is connected to the water treatment plant in Kyle, and the north system is connected to the water treatment plant in Elrose.

The new flat fee for town residents is $35 per month.

Each imperial gallon per minute now costs subscribers $50, and $12 per 1,000 imperial gallons of water.

The new fees are to help cover the loan payments and operational costs of the SLRWPU.
