Update: September 7th, 2022

The latest update regarding the bridge on Pinkham Road came in back on August 29th. Heavy Traffic is being asked to use the dirt detour, though the road is use at your own risk. People should drive very slowly, and know it will not be passable should the area receive rain.

Any questions from people who traverse the area can contact the Bylaw Officer at (306) 460-8056, but we spoke to RM of Kindersley Deputy Reeve for Division 5 Lorne Pincemin about the state of the current work being done.

After initially not allowing any heavy traffic, the RM has built a bypass so heavy trucks and the bigger equipment can get through. Pincemin also noted that passenger traffic can still travel across the top of the bridge.

"We're in the process of getting a culvert replacement engineered, so that we can order the culvert and try to get it in this fall to replace the bridge."

They were able to use their road-building equipment to create the stop-gap solution, and return the road back to a somewhat normal passage for everyday users. Pincemin mentioned the inconveniences that people around the area face.

"It's the only road within several miles, so you either have to go to Flaxcombe or even almost Fairmount to get around that cooley. It's important in the fact that it is a vital link from North to South there.

They expect the new culver to be installed before the winter, barring any complications. West Central Online will follow up with the construction.
