Delisle Chiefs

The Delisle Chiefs unbeaten start to the season is finally over after last Saturday but the team bounced back with a win in overtime on Sunday. The Chiefs were in Fort Qu'Appelle on Saturday and lost a tight one to Fort Knox. Keegan Randell, Brody Swanson, and Jaden Shewchuk all scored in the first two periods as Delisle held the lead 3-2 going into the third period. Fort Knox came back with 3 unanswered goals including one into an empty next to seal the 5-3 win. 

The Chiefs continued their road trip into Central Butte to play the Storm. In a back and forth affair the teams split goals in the first and second periods with the score being nodded at 2 heading into the third. There was no scoring in the third which meant that the teams would have to settle the tie in overtime. The Chiefs got a goal from Cole Youngman with just over a minute left to win the game 3-2. Delisle now sits at 7-1 after 8 games this season. Plenty native and captain Chad Westman leads the team with 14 points in 8 games with Austin Linnen just behind with 13 and Jaden Shewchuk in third with 12 points in 8 games. The Chiefs are back on the ice on Saturday at home as they will try to get revenge on Fort Knox for beating them last Saturday. Game time is 7:30 at the Delisle Arena.

West Central Rage

The West Central Rage had a busy weekend on the road and couldn’t come away with a victory. Their trip started in Prince Albert Friday night to play the Titans and they were on the wrong end of a 5-3 score. The Rage played the Titans once again on Saturday and lost 4-1 to Prince Albert. The trip finished up in Carrot River on Sunday as they played the Thunder. In another hard fought game, West Central fell 3-1 to go winless on their road swing. Ryan Smith lead the way for the Rage with 2 goals on the weekend. Blake Fennig still leads the team in scoring with 16 points in 13 games with Brayden Schultz in second with 9 points in 15 games and Keaton Haynes has six from the back end in 12 games.

The Rage will get a chance at Carrot River once again as they will head up to play the Thunder once again on Saturday and Sunday. The Rage are 3-11-1 and sit last in the Bob Dybvig Division after 15 games played so far.
