Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe took to Twitter Thursday morning expressing his support for Ukrainians and Ukrainian-Canadians, and calling for action from the Canadian government.

"To those in Ukraine, and all Ukrainian-Canadians with loved ones in Ukraine, Saskatchewan stands with you," he wrote. "The attack by Russia is unprovoked, unwarranted and evil."

He added that "severe and immediate trade sanctions" should be implemented by countries around the globe, including Canada.

"This must include immediately ending the import of Russian oil and natural gas."

According to a statement from The Canadian Press, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is calling on Ottawa to lift all
COVID-19 mandates now that it has lifted the Emergencies Act.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the federal government will revoke the act now that the crisis in Ottawa
and at Canada's border crossings has calmed down. Moe says revoking the act is the right thing to do and should never have been used in the first place.

Saskatchewan's public health orders are to end on Monday, including the mask mandate and the requirement to self-isolate if
positive with COVID-19.
